One day on the French Yatra, it poured and poured but the skin is waterproof…

We held our 14th French Yatra (pilgrimage) for 10 days in the beautiful region of Limoux, southern France. Around 130 or more, including 25 aged from 15 years down to babies, participated.  We walked in the precious beauty of the Pyrenees mountains.

We had a wonderful team of teachers and co-ordinators to ensure the smooth flow of the Yatra.

We were blessed with ideal walking weather with sun and cloud mingling with each other in a pleasant intimacy. Not every day. We had more than a day of torrential rain that made an Indian monsoon seem like a mild shower.

There is something worthwhile about the buckets of non-stop rain, soaked tents, the grip of the mud along the tracks, soaked clothing and rainwater swirling around in the porridge. It is hard to define why. We felt stronger at the end of the day going through this experience and trudging through the rainstorms and the mud.

We took comfort knowing the skin is waterproof.

Here are three albums of photos.  Most of us hesitated to take the camera out in the downpours.  About 100 photos in each.

If you go to the small white square box on the right hand side, beneath and below to left of number of  photos on screen, this will give you a slide show.
